Dates: September 2015
The DoubleTree by Hilton is conveniently located near Bristol Temple Meads railway station. The car park was undergoing some changes during my overnight here, but still a reasonable size and costs £10, which will be added to your bill.
The rooms are nice and look to have been refreshed fairly recently. I stayed on a bed and breakfast rate but also ate dinner at the Temple Bar. As I only stayed one night I wasn't in a position to make use of the fitness suite.
I liked the room, it was bright and a reasonable size. Probably the most amazing thing was the vast number of sockets - I counted no less than 12 in the room. This gave the room a modern feel compared to the tired look of the Holiday Inn.
The food was nice, although nothing special. I had Singapore vermicelli. It was made quickly and the wait staff were professional and very friendly.
Overall, from my short time there, I had a positive experience and would recommend the hotel for anyone wanting a quick break. There wasn't a notice of how long the car park would be undergoing changes, but it didn't really detract from the stay.
