More tourist things today as we strolled down to Battery Park to pick up our tickets for the Statue of Liberty tour. The ferry ride was fun but I would have suggested another gangway onto the boat. It took about 15 minutes to get everyone on.
We had tickets to the top and pretty soon after we got there we embarked on our 393 step journey to the crown. We stopped off at the top of the pedestal to enjoy the view and take a quick break.
Following our 10 minute wander around the pedestal, we were ready to embark on the twisting staircase and head up the body to the crown. These steps are steep and there are a lot. Safe to say that it was a great workout for the legs.
The crown is a little cramped but was worth the visit. We didn't do the Ellis Island tour, but will do that on another visit.
