Dates: July 2015
The Staybridge Suites are a different style of hotel, themed more like a home from home, each room comes equipped with a kitchen area. As we were only staying 2 nights, we didn't make use of all the facilities of the kitchen area but for a longer term rental this would be a perfect staging point.
The Staybridge in Vauxhall is a fairly new hotel and is centrally located within easy reach of the Vauxhall tube station (about 5 minutes walk). Coming out of the underground, you are greeted with a nice MI6 building which is a nice piece of architecture along the waterfront.
The hotel is spacious with 24-hour "shop" where you can purchase items to eat or drink in your room. There isn't a restaurant but there is a communal area where a diverse breakfast is served. As is usual for London, you need your room key to access the lift and get the lift moving. Our room was on the third floor.
Our room was a standard suite, with ensuite including a walk in shower. The kitchen area had a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, sink and cooker. It also had an odd number, 3? of each implement. Having a fully functioning kitchen area meant that when we ordered a takeaway we were able to use plates and cutlery, which made the meal more pleasant. Rooms aren't made up each day but only at certain times during the week.
Although we only stopped for 2 nights, I've a feeling that for another long term project, especially in central London, I would be staying at the Staybridge Suites Vauxhall again.
