The Wide Mouthed Frog restaurant is situated with the main building of the Dalziel Park Hotel. It is an A La Carte restaurant, with a very good menu of fine dining, although it's quite inexpensive. Walking through the main bar (which serves a cut down version of the same menu) you are separated off into the restaurant. The lighting is effective, no too dark and not too hospital, a chainmail curtain blocks off the entrance from the series of dining booths.
After being shown to my seat by a friendly waitress, you are presented with a menu ranging from Frogs Legs to pub favourites, such as a burger and chips. I sampled most things on the menu, but the Frogs Legs stood out to me as I hadn't had them before.
As is normal in most restaurants it seems nowadays plates didn't make it out of the kitchen for most courses. On the whole the food was very presentable and palatable. I didn't sample the culinary deserts, but I did have a few of the cocktails. The one I preferred was "Terry's Chocolate Orange", it was a desert in itself.
Overall I would recommend the restaurant, even to non residents, as the value and quality was very good. 4/5 - please can I have plates some times!
